This week - from Tuesday through Saturday - a series of celebratory events focused on its students is being sponsored by ASU’s second oldest college, which is the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences (C.L.A.S.S.).

Many of the C.L.A.S.S. events are open to the public and are sponsored to highlight the University’s rich and diverse history. This week's events highlight the C.L.A.S.S.’s dedication to "transformative education, cutting-edge research technologies, hands-on experience and service to humankind."

Among the array of events being held this week includes such fun activities as: Poetry on the Steps, The Student & Alumni Concert, a Lunch with "The Dean" Mixer, and Saturday's C.L.A.S.S. Connection Day; as well as more (see the complete schedule below).

The University’s Sesquicentennial Celebration began this summer and will end in the first week of February 2018, which coincides with ASU's Founder's Week. During this period of time up through February, the University will continue to host special events and programs that tell the rich and diverse history of ASU and recognizes the legacy of the institution, which was founded in Marion, Ala. by nine freed men (all of whom were former slaves) in July,1867.
