TONIGHT: Alabama State U./Sheriff's Halloween Spooktacular Provides Trick-or-Treat Alternative for Area Kids! (1524 hits)

Join us tonight as all the little ghouls and witches come out to be treated as Alabama State University's National Public Radio station - WVAS-90.7 FM - co-sponsors the 2016 "Trick or Treat Halloween Spooktacular" with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

It's free and open to the public and offers you great and easy news coverage at one location!

This safe community-wide event for children between the ages of 1 and 11 will be held TONIGHT from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alcazar Shriners Temple, located at 555 Eastern Blvd.

“Spooktacular offers the community a safe alternative to door-to- door trick or treating,” said Montgomery County Sheriff Derrick Cunningham. “Given today’s climate, we want to do all we can to protect our little ones.”

WVAS Station Manager Candy Capel agrees with Cunningham and said Spooktacular is a great community event.

“WVAS and the Sheriff’s Office have partnered to provide a family friendly and safe Halloween night for local kids for the last several years. This is just another way for us to show that we care about our community."

For more event information about this event, contact Tina Joly, WVAS news director, at 334-229-4783 or via e-mail at tjoly@alasu.edu.
