
Cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing career fields in the United States and worldwide. As a way to address this growing career field, Allen University and Bennett College in partnership with It-oLogy and Partners for Minorities in Engineering and Computer Science (PMECS) have created an outstanding summer program to impact students to learn, study and consider entering the field of Cybersecurity.
Allen University and Benedict College are members of the Department of Energy's new cybersecurity consortium (CECOR) consisting of 13 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), two national laboratories, and a k-12 school district. The workshop is sponsored by the U. S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE-NNSA). As a part of the DOE-NNSA Cybersecurity Consortium.
Students will learn through hands-on computer activities how cybersecurity professionals help protect information systems from unauthorized access, misuse, and or destruction.
- Participate in a field study
- Earn a certificate of completion
- Live in a college dorm for one week
- Meet with business and industry leaders in the technology field
- Learn about exciting career and educational opportunities in cybersecurity
- Earn an incentive and an opportunity to participate in on-going programs throughout the school year.
