Allen University Announces the Simmons, Pinckney and Sanders Scholarship (1755 hits)


Allen University has created a scholarship fund to honor three alumni who lost their lives in the historic Mother Emanuel - African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) church massacre on June 17, 2015 in Charleston, South Carolina. 

The Allen University alumni were:

Dr. Daniel Lee Simmons, Jr., Social Science Major with a minor in Psychology (Class of 1967) from Mullins S.C.

Senator Clementa Pinckney, Business Administration Major, Magna Cum Laude (Class of 1995) from Ridgeland, S.C

 Mr. Tywanza Sanders, Business Administration (Class of 2014) from Charleston, S.C.

Allen University has a history of developing leaders who live and work across the world.  The official scholarship name is the Simmons, Pinckney and Sanders Allen University Scholarship Fund.    This scholarship fund will help Allen University to continue the legacy of developing leaders who make a difference in their communities where they live and work.
