Allen University Students Write Over 8,000 Thank You Letters to SC General Assembly (925 hits)

Allen University students’ showed their gratitude for Tuition Grants in South Carolina by writing thank you letters to the South Carolina General Assembly.

Each year, prior to Independent Colleges & Universities Day at the State House, Tuition Grant recipients from South Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities (SCICU) member institutions write individual thank you letters to their resident House and Senate members.

For the first time in the program’s history, all 20 schools were represented in the letter writing. The 100% participation rate from the schools yielded over 8,100 thank you letters, nearly a 1,000 letter increase from last year’s campaign.

The SCICU presented Allen University with an award stipend to be used for holding student appreciation events on our campus. Allen University had the highest student participation with 80% of Tuition Grant recipients to writing thank you letters to the South Carolina General Assembly.

Allen University is a private, coeducational institution located in Columbia, South Carolina.  It is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate degrees.  To learn more about Allen University, please visit www.AllenUniversity.edu.
