WHAT: “Jazz, Jive & Jam” A Celebration of the Poetry & Prose of Langston Hughes, starring three-time Emmy winner Bobby Norfolk and nationally known comedian and vocalist David Graham and directed by Beverly Brennan. “Jazz, Jive & Jam” is a celebration of the writing of Langston Hughes featuring stories of his hilarious character, Jesse B. Semple who represented the “Everyman” of the 1920’s Harlem. Join Jesse and Langston as they engage in a series of humorous and soulful conversations on life, love, race and landladies. Experience the Harlem Renaissance through Hughes creative genius and brilliant imagination. This literary journey shines with prose, poetry, vignettes and toe-tapping music.
The show includes a talk-back with actors and refreshments.
