Attend the "Women in Business" Conference at ASU! (1068 hits)


- ASU Small Business Development Center’s conference aimed at celebrating and empowering women in business.

Alabama State University’s Small Business Development Center will host the Women in Business Conference 2013: The Little Pink Toolbox on Tuesday, July 30, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in ASU's Dunn-Oliver Acadome Banquet Room.

This year’s conference theme is “The Little Pink Toolbox.”

Keynote speakers are Miranda Bouldin, president and CEO of LogiCore Inc., and LeNa Powe, manager of Minority Business and Small Business Development, Birmingham Business Alliance. Powe also is the former Miss Black Alabama.

Women of all generations and backgrounds are invited to attend the event, which celebrates womanhood and offers guidance from business professionals on the keys to success.

“From start to finish, this one-day conference is designed to help women and small business owners grow through our high-impact, interactive platform,” said Lorenza Patrick, director of the Small Business Development Center at ASU. “The workshops will provide participants with resources needed to succeed in business. It is for women who are thinking about starting a business and for those who are already in business.”

Conference topics will include “Procurement Opportunities for Women-Owned Businesses,” “Building Credit and Obtaining Business Financing: What You Need To Know,” and “Funding Panel: Obtaining a Loan in Today’s Economy.”
