Let’s not get it twisted! Your commitment to the gospel and your living and teaching these set of beliefs, will stir up difficulty and problems! You will get Bullied!
Bullying can be defined in many different ways. One way is “covert” bullying and is the use of force as well as intimidation. A bullying culture can develop in any context in which human beings interact with each other. This includes church, family, the workplace, home, and neighborhoods. In such groups where the “bully mentality” has been allowed to become a dominant factor in the group environment, injustice and abuse often become regular and predictable parts of the group experience.
In the context of “gospel bullying” (hostile, unprovoked offensives), we are told that “all” that will live godly “will” suffer mistreatment. Along with this mistreatment, we can be confident that we will be the victor! We are called “soldiers and warriors, and called to participate in the burden that comes with following Christ.
The whole assignment of these difficult persecutions, are to reduce the strength of your faith and to get you to give up and accept “status quo” and “go along to get along” living! We are told to endure afflictions as a good soldier; that any soldier of Christ must not get entangled with the dealings of this lesser life.
We must patiently undergo the hateful mistreatment towards us, while momentarily upset! We are here on a mission and should stay focused on what that mission is, and allow God to handle it! If you stop and get “entangled” in worldly interactions, then you get off the purpose to which you were placed here, and the overall spiritual mission is either slowed down and/or aborted! You have then become your own hindrance and an impediment to the plan of God!
We have an assurance that we are already victorious over any situation… and that we must operate in such a way that radiates victory! No matter what a situation looks like, what we feel like, or how we are subject to cruel or unfair treatment because of our spiritual beliefs, we have already conquered each and every situation!
We have a promise that no weapon that is formed against us will ever prosper and that we can censure it!
Again, all that will live godly…will suffer persecution! As warriors of the living God, we are encouraged not to strive, fight, contend, quarrel or get caught up in worldly disputes! God has already set the end from the beginning. ..we triumph! Follow His direction and stay focused!
We are troubled on every side, but we certainly are not worried! Sometimes we are so bewildered, but we are not distracted. We are victimized, but we are not abandoned. We feel dishearten sometimes, but never ruined. For we, who live for Christ, are always going to be challenged to work through any obstacles and to remain triumphant… so that His life may be manifested in our own humanity!
We must remember the principles and ambitions of new covenant ministry: it is always triumphant, it is spiritual (not of ourselves… but Christ), magnificent and honest, because the power is of God…alone!
Always remember this: in the midst of being singled out, or covertly bullied …no test or enticement that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to make a way of escape and help you come through it.
Blessed be God, the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our hardships, so that we will be able to relieve those, by this same comfort which we ourselves are comforted of God.
