Senior guard Jourdan DeMuyrick of Prairie View A&M has been named SWAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. DeMuyrick had a stellar weekend, averaging 22 points and nine rebounds per game and leading the Panthers to a pair of wins.
On Saturday, the San Leandro, California native scored 17 points and had seven rebounds to lead PVAM to a 65-56 win over Alabama State. Then, DeMurick had a double-double in a thrilling overtime win on the road against Alabama A&M. He finished the game with 27 points and 11 rebounds as PVAM edged A&M 61-57.
For the weekend, DeMuyrick shot 40 percent from the field. He has led the Panthers in 16 of the team's 29 games. He has eight double-doubles this season.
