Hurricane Katrina and Insurance. (106 hits)

Greetings:

I remember when I interned for the State Department of Insurance Legal Division my senior year of college.
I was there when many Insurance companies were suing the state of Florida.
Hurricane Andrew had devasted southern Florida.
Insurance companies were trying to pull out of the state in order not to pay Insurance premiums for homes, properties etc.
You would not believe the popular big named Insurance companies that many of you can think of today i.e. State Farm (I mention them since I viewed them on the news the other night).
The Insurance companies that were staying were driving their rates up like 100%.
Even if one is rich, that is a tremendous increase in money to pay for Insurance, especially if you live near the beach.

Now I see Insurance companies are doing the same things to areas of New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabama.
We already know those areas are dominated by people of color and other poor cultures of people.
People that have payed their Insurance for 35, 40 and 50 years are now not able to claim Insurance Money to rebuild their homes. This is a daggone shame!
I want everyone to know from my experiences that all those people can file a mass lawsuit against the state to make these Insurance companies pay up.
They do have the money, believe not their lies. Don't settle for their scams, especially after the federal goverment neglected so many people and left them to suffer and many to die, no excuses.
I had been saying Bush needs to be a Man and take full blame and that FEMA director, no words for him.

I remember participating at a men's seminar and one of the top problems we as a black people have is lack of Insurance.
I have family in Florida that owns funeral homes and you would be surprised at the amount of black men that do not have Insurance to have themselves buried, the wife taken care of and the children. One of the reasons many black people are in debt, is because no Insurance, someone has to pick up the costs and a lot of younger people are dying.
Hospital debts are so high because of lack of Insurance thus neglect of self and others connected to you like children.
Many people turn to medicaid and medicare and do not realize they cover the bare minimum of costs.
I can go on and on but please remember Insurance is very important especially to young people.
Many times young people have to take on the costs of mother, father, grandmother etc. not having Insurance or not enough Insurance to cover costs of house, property and buriel.
5,000 in many cases is not enough to bury someone and I feel that as a parent, something should be left to mother and children.
Many of you come from a single parent household. Some of you know what I am talking about.
When daddy or mommy unfortunately pass away the other spouse and children have to take on the costs.
This is also far more complicated if you are in college and death or disaster strikes.
No money than the money is taken out of other things from pockets to liens on properties to extra mortgages on houses.
You would be surprised of the amount of students that have a loss of family or property, hospital debt etc. that are pressured to drop out of college, get caught up in life and never go back.
I remember seeing people cry that had to go home to take care of family at the expense of their own dreams and goals.
One of the biggest rising issues which will slow down efforts to rebuild in all those devastated areas is Insurance which builds to more debt.
Insurance companies like StateFarm are finding loopholes not to pay people and too many poor black and white people are falling for that.
Of course this is due to economic status and color.
You see when I was at the State Department of Insurance, the highest amount of people victimized were black, poor or both.
I even had an Aunt and Uncle I had to work with to get their Insurance straight.
People as you get out there in the world, as you get married and have children, for husbands, wives, single folk etc., Insurance does count from car, to property, to medical and dental.
Also if any lesson has been learned with all due respect to the unfortunate neglect of the U.S. Government is that disasters will always happen.
How many people in the future will be able to afford and live in another area for longer than 2 weeks? Everyone does not come from good families that have your back as evidenced by the amount of people that could not leave in those devastated areas.
Also the Bible in Proverbs 18:24 states to have friends you need to be friendly. Also the Bible states in Heb 13:1 that friends are angels.
You never know that 1 person that extended their hand in honest and sincere friendship that you may need one day.
Just look at the rap songs like that dude Mike Jones (Ya I know a lil sometinsometin), sports celebrities etc. that remember all those who snubbed their noses at them but come back as fake facades claiming to be a friend.
This is what a supposed God Believer would do.
Many that call themselves Christians are some of the most stuck up people I have ever encountered. At least I know where I stand on the streets, this is something I often have often stated.
How does this last part tie in with Insurance?
There are some brilliant students, future students and alumnus here. Think about it.
True friends are your greatest Insurance policy, 2nd only through Jesus that sent another comforter, the Holy Spirit that dwells in all true good people.
All good gifts come from God.
This is how I view good positive people.
One can be a millionaire, but money costs to spend when calamity strikes.
Friendship is priceless, there are a whole bunch of folk in the world clamoring for them now.
Learn from life and make not the same mistake.
There is too much envy and jealousy in the world which exists in too many simpleminded folk about only self. That is until they need someone, get straight and then usually go back to being the same way.
Any people know people like this?
Amen...............
"God" Bless 2 All!
Sincerely
William

p.s. Just to mention, just ended this debate at another site I write at (BigChurch.com).
You have bumped your head if you believe a Christian can be a practising homos*xual.
Just keep living. God loves yes indeed. But I claim there is a hierchy of sins. Sin is sin but I don't believe because I was greedy and ate 5 hamburgers that I am going to get the same punishment as Cain killed Abel. Thats dumb.
I have never counseled any one gay that did not fit in 3 categories 1. Massive abuse 2. molestation or rape and 3. A spirit was passed.
The normal mental growth was altered.
But it is still choice.
To say homos*xuality is born is to say God made a mistake. The devil is a liar to.
Anyone that disagrees, all I have to do is copy paste my posts at BigChurch that no one could answer back, not even some who claim to be theologians of God.
Folk they are recruiting heavily everywhere.
I suspect even on here.
Everyone belongs here but no one has the right to force an acceptance.
By the way, all what I say here ties together.
Wise people here and fools................
No Man or true Woman is comfortable with someone of the same s*x up in your face or near.......................
