Hello to all:
I wanted to put this information out for all in need.
I live in Waycross, GA.
In accordance with the articles I have written about Hurricane Katrina and the mass injustice that has occured, "God" has certainly answered in all and much more than I stated.
I attended a local Church/Community meeting last night at 7 p.m. I was expected to speak at my Aunts Church (In reference to my book) and also help out a guy that counsels people that have drug and alcohol problems. When the news was told to me about this meeting, both understood and encouraged me to go. I stopped by both places to inform them. I will meet my obligations with them later.
A local pastor in which I really respect what he has initiated has gathered our local, state, educational, computer, aide etc.etc.etc. resources to organize assistance for 250 families to go get them and bring them back here to live rent free for at least 3 months. There are a lot of empty apartments and houses here that I was wondering about that can be used to help people.
A lot of commitees were organized and I have voluntered for three of them. As my wish next week we will be renting buses to go, transport and assist in bring people back here to waycross, I spoke tonight and told people (they laughed) that our city is known as the Way of the Cross.
I wondered how a state that in general believes in the rebel flag would respond. There were also a lot of white folk there respectfully.
I also volunteered to help collect and move furniture to furnish these places. As the Minister stated, we need to make these places as comfortable as we would like ourselves, lets not give them junk". We also plan to have cable and telephone lines put in these places.
Commitees have been established to wave the red tape for people in order to help find jobs, educate those children, replace lost identification, transport, loan vehicles to, fix up and clean buildings, counsel,etc.etc.etc.
I just knew that it is easy to talk, but then "God" puts people in places to back it up or shut it up.
I was one of the youngest brothers there and most of the older men had stated knee and back problems. I did not see anyone else volunteer to move furiniture which ws not one of the glamour commitees for recognition, but where there is a will there is a way.
I feel guilty often using a computer, enjoying aircondition, eating etc. while others are hungry and do not have the amenities I have.
Doing your part is nothing and should not be noted, it is your duty thus a Blessing.
I will also be counseling and assisting from my experiences in whatever capacity that I can.
We know that 250 families is a small drop in the bucket, we named that number for starters but we WILL take care of and support as many as we can. Money is of no concern. As the Minister stated, "God" ain't looking at the resources you have, "HE" is looking for the resource that you are to perform it.
Feel free to spread the word, we are coming asap and when we need more money, we will dig deeper. "Lord" knows I don't need it, but others.................
I close here, I just wanted to be fair in stating the positive along with the negative in reference to Hurricane Katrina and all the wrongs that were done before, during and after that all those who were in error will have to pay for.
"God" Bless All
Sincerely
William
