Is Police Shooting Racial Profiling? (1691 hits)

My friend and radio talk show host Apostle Claver T. Kamau-Imani sent me the following email excerpt: “…Had a tragic shooting involving a Bellaire, TX police officer and a young black athlete. This could be the first real test for our new D.A. Pat Lykos. How will she handle it? This is extremely important in the aftermath of the District Attorney scandals that brought down the former GOP DA.”

Urban Editorial: 2009 is A Time of Change; and this month our congressional and local elective officials will be inaugurated into their posts; Houston's Harris County Sheriff-elect Adrian Garcia and District Attorney-elect Pat Lykos. It is going to be quite interesting to see how Lykos handle this situation. According to Bellaire Police Press Report: The incident occurred December 31, 2008 (Bellaire TX) Around 2AM, Bellaire Police Officers were investigating an assumed stolen vehicle in the 800 block of Woodstock. Officers approached the two suspects; and attempted to detain and question the two guys about a reported stolen vehicle. An altercation broke out; and Robert Tolan, 23 was struck once and rushed to Ben Taub Hospital. Following the altercation officers learned that the vehicle was not actually stolen.”
