NCIS Network Engineer | TS/SCI clearance

Shape whats next for mission-critical government projects while shaping whats next for your engineering career The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of approximately 2,200 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counterterrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Senior Network Engineer, the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the NCIS ITD organization in Quantico, VA.Tests and analyses all elements of network facilitiesMonitors and controls the performance and status of network resources on multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware toolsIdentifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performanceAnalyzes network performance, usage, traffic flows, access, and interfacesProvides technical planning and analysis for communication activities including designing, integrating, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, monitoring, reporting, documenting, working with appropriate vendors, and performing preventative maintenance servicesPerforms testing, provisioning, operations, and emergency response for ongoing network operationsOversees and managers the deployment of upgrades to existing data, video, and related systems in a multi-location environmentEnsures all required operational and support documents are currentMaintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in online media, cloud service, storage solutions, and other data center technologies WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED (Required):Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI EligibilityRequired Experience: 8+ years of network engineering and administration experienceCertification Requirement: CompTIA Security+ CEEducation: BS Degree or 4 additional years of work experience required in lieu of degree.Location: Hybrid - 3 days onsite in Quantico VA; 2 days remote.US Citizenship required The successful candidate is expected to be experienced with some of the following:Experience with engineering data center and IP backbone networks in a multi-vendor, multiprotocol environment, including networks based on T1, DS3, Fiber/Optical, DSL, Ethernet, and Ethernet over Copper core.Experience with the following protocols, BGP, OSPF, vDC, vPC, VRFs, Spanning-Tree, VLANs, 802.1q, QoS, Cisco ASA with Active/Active Multiple ContextsFirewall Experience Required- Cisco ASA 5500X, Juniper SRX, Forcepoint SW Expert level configuration of Cisco routers and switches including: 4500/6500, 3750, 3850, and ASR 1000 Nexus 2K/5K/7K/9K Data Center ExperienceExperience with configuration and management of firewalls; Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, Forcepoint Sidewinder, and JuniperFamiliar with NTP /MAB/F5 DeploymentExperience with Network Management Apps - Cisco ACS/ISE,Cisco Prime, SolarWinds GDIT IS YOUR PLACEAt GDIT, the mission is our purpose, and our people are at the center of everything we do.Growth: AI-powered career tool that identifies career steps and learning opportunitiesSupport: An internal mobility team focused on helping you achieve your career goalsRewards: Comprehensive benefits and wellness packages, 401K with company match, and competitive pay and paid time offCommunity: Award-winning culture of innovation and a military-friendly workplace OWN YOUR OPPORTUNITYExplore a career in software development at GDIT and youll find endless opportunities to grow alongside colleagues who share your dedication to advancing innovation. #NCIScareers
