In this role, you will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from analysis and design to implementation and ongoing support, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet evolving business needs.<br>You will play a vital role in a rapidly growing organization, working closely with experienced and driven engineers to solve complex challenges. <br>Engineers work in small, flexible teams, with every member contributing to the design, development, and testing of features. We follow an Agile approach to software development and practice continuous integration and delivery. <br>This is a hybrid position based in OFallon, MO requiring three days per week onsite.<br><br>Role: <br> Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software applications that align with Mastercard engineering standards and best practices.<br> Deliver secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions within defined timelines and budgets.<br> Research and evaluate alternative technical approaches to meet current and future business needs.<br> Conduct feasibility studies, system flowcharting, and logic design to support solution development.<br> Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to meet project goals, identify issues early, and recommend practical solutions.<br> Independently manage assigned tasks and participate in production incident management and on-call rotations.<br> Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation in line with Mastercards quality and governance standards.<br> Assist senior engineers in updating documentation and templates to align with evolving project and technology needs.<br> Contribute to process improvement initiatives and promote best practices in software development and delivery.<br> Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of software and project performance metrics.<br><br>All About You: <br> Proven experience in software engineering, architecture, or development.<br> Strong hands-on experience in Java (Java 17 preferred) for developing scalable and high-performance applications.<br> Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Git.<br> Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred).<br> Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).<br> Experience developing with web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React.<br> Solid understanding of database technologies, including both SQL and NoSQL systems.<br> Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and working within microservices architectures.<br> Strong grasp of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and system performance optimization.<br> Proficient in algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems concepts.<br> Experience in Agile environments (e.g., Scrum or Kanban) with continuous integration and iterative delivery models.<br> Passionate about solving complex, real-world challenges through technology.<br> Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take ownership and deliver results in fast-paced, collaborative settings.<br> Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.<br> Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
