"God Chose Solomon"
1 Chronicles 28:1-5
The kingdom of Israel belonged to the Lord, not to David or anyone else. Israel's king, then, was God's deputy, commissioned to carry out God's will for the nation. Thus, God could choose the person He wanted as king without following customary lines of succession. David was not Saul's heir, and Solomon was not David's oldest son, but this did not matter because God appointed them.
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"Tradition" is very often an excuse word for people who don't want to change." - Red Barber
BLACK HISTORY TRIVIA:
Stacy Bell is trying to start another streak. She was the winner yesterday with the answer "75" (I will be 35 on Monday and Ray was captured in 1968, 40 years ago. 40 + 35 = 75). Here is today's question, which is a three part question: "Raisin in the Sun" opened on Broadway on this day in 1959. A few weeks ago, the adaptation of the play aired on television. For today's answer, I need the following: 1) the name of the person who was in the starring role in the adaptation that aired a a few weeks ago, 2) the name of his last album, 3) the name of the hit song on that album that featured a duet with Keyshia Cole.
