Andre’s latest achievement is his stellar performance in David E. Talbert's play national tour “Love in the Nick of Tyme” starring Morris Chestnut, Ellia English of the Jamie Foxx show, and R & B recording artist, Avant. In the play Pitre plays the prominent role of Harvey, the UPS man, who serenades his way into our hearts and reveals the answer to the UPS tagline, “What Can Brown Do For You?”
He credits his performances with Aaron Hall, George Clinton and the P-Funk All-stars, John P. Key, Frankie Beverly/Maze, Shucky Ducky, Zhane, and Magical Sol Brothas’ for his musical stylings and appreciation for the industry. During his studies at Prairie View A&M University where he received the Bachelors Degree in Communications in 1998, Andre performed with the famed Charles Gilpin Players, directed by C.Lee Turner. He was also a founding member of the group Rapor and later pursued a solo career. Andre’s Debut Album “Always Hold On” was released on UNITAN Records in 1996.
He received many honors and awards to include Vocalist with Starmania, Talent Show Winner, PV Choice for Male Vocalist 1994-1996 and Group Vocalist 1994-1995. He was also a member of Straight from the Heart and Jusmoove, which helped developed his love to help others.
In addition to his music, Pitre is also a pillar in the community. He has worked with children in the inner cities of Houston, Beaumont, and Los Angeles for several years. He has successfully spearheaded summer programs, basketball camps, and after school activities serving as both mentor and volunteer to ensure that children, especially young men, have a positive influence while teaching them sportsmanship and the fundamentals of teamwork on and off the field.
Pitre, is currently in the studio working on his debut album, but in the meantime ... brace yourself for André.
