Syndee Winters made her Broadway debut as future-queen ‘Nala’ in Disney’s The Lion King – a role she reprised in 2019, when she had the honorable opportunity to meet Sister ‘Nala,’ Beyonce, in preparation of The Lion King live-action film.
Syndee’s other Broadway credits include Motown the Musical, Pippin, and “working it” as all three Schuyler Sisters in the smash hit Hamilton. She has appeared on NBC Live's Jesus Christ Superstar alongside EGOT winner John Legend and as "Ms. Smiley interviewed Lieutenant Olivia Benson (Mariska Harigitay) about her parenting methods on Law & Order SVU!
Syndee's most recent writing project, a one-woman musical play titled LENA: A Moment with a Lady, pays tribute to American icon Lena Horne through storytelling and her music.
Winters has written and released a number of singles, EPs, and her first Jazz vocal album, Lessons: From A Lady, which is inspired by Lena Horne and is available on iTunes, Spotify, and all digital platforms.
You can also hear her voice on tracks by artists such as Snoop Dogg, Big Daddy Kane, and Grandmaster Flash.
Syndee is the founder of the ROAR School, which teaches students to be resourceful, optimistic, authentic, and resilient. ROAR School has transformed the skills of students all over the world by combining creativity, discipline, and mindfulness, that also fulfills a life long dream of hers to be able to teach.
I caught up with Syndee in Los Angeles to talk about her amazing career and accomplishments.
