WHEN:
April 7: Bachelor of Fine Arts dance recital at 6 p.m.
April 17 - 20: Theatre senior's 'One Act Play' Festival at 6 p.m.

History is being made by the Alabama State University College of Visual and Performing Arts' student-dancers and actors.

Each are making ASU history - the College's Theatre Department is graduating the largest class in its history at this year's Spring Commencement Exercise in May, as well as graduating the first-ever students in the college's history to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Dance. The dancers are also the first-ever to graduate from a historic black college or university (HBCU) in the U.S.

On Friday (April 7), the BFA seniors will present their dance projects, titled “HAPPENINGS: The Way We See It,” which will be performed at 6 p.m. at the ASU Leila Barlow Theatre.

The University's Theatre seniors will perform their acclaimed "One Act Play Festival," on April 17 - 20, at 6 p.m. at the Lelia Barlow Theatre. Each has been working over the past few weeks to shape their individual 20-minute performances, which are part of the event.

Admission is free, but seating is limited.

The public is invited to share in all of the students’ performances.
