Allen University in partnership with The Watering Hole, a non-profit arts organization, Inspirations Academy, will sponsor a stellar camp for children: Back to School with S.T.E.A.M.
The camp is a week long summer camp designed to holistically integrate S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) with fun activities that include examining light through the building of a periscope, engaging in the building of website. Participants will be introduced to the basics of HTML coding, nature walks, literacy through creative writing, the making of innovative collages, and much more. The week will culminate with a stage production based on the week’s activities. Facilitators include college students, faculty, educators and artists. Note: Healthy lunches and snacks will be provided.
The tuition for the camp is $99 with a one-time $25 registration fee. More information and an application form can be found at www.inspirationsacademy.org, or you may contact Monifa Jackson at 864-413-1894 or Dr. Charlene Spearen at 803-376-6794. A limited number of scholarships based on need are available.
Creative and critical thinking and hands-on activities serve as the core for this camp. Our goal is to provide a safe space for all to explore self-expression and problem-solving skills through the lens of S.T.E.A. M. While other camps may focus on the fun of summer, this camp makes learning fun….your children will GO BACK TO SCHOOL WITH S.T.E.A.M!!!
