Allen University Wrestling will host first ever home match against USC – Columbia (2553 hits)

Allen will host its’ inaugural home wresting match! The game will be against the University of South Carolina (USC) on February 21st at 6:00pm in the John Hurst Gymnatorium on the campus of Allen University.

Allen’s team is led by Mr. Robert Hemingway.  Allen University is the first Historically Black College or University to have a wrestling team.  We are excited about what this means for our student athletes and their development in the sport.

Mr. Hemingway is “Happy to have this opportunity to move Allen University into the wrestling arena”. He believes this will help to increase student engagement and academic success given that the club sport requires discipline, self-motivation and leadership.  The wrestling team students are from many of the major towns in South Carolina. They hail from Charleston, Hilton Head, Beaufort, Goose Creek, and Rock Hill, home of Cameron Bell a star on the wrestling team

Please join us for this exciting event.
