Living on Mars | Amiri Williams | TEDxYouth@Baltimore (12965 hits)

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In his talk Amiri describes what it would be like to live on Mars and what we would need it get it done.

Hi my name is Amiri Williams I am currently sixteen years old. I go to NACA II which is a new school that just showed up about six years ago. I like coding, playing video games, watching science fiction tv shows, movies, and working on the computer. Computer and science fiction always interest me because they open up a new world to study and imagine. Science fiction ties in to my TEDxYouth talk because it deals with the idea of living on mars. Earth has a limited supply of resources to sustain life. Therefore in order to keep life alive me may need to find a new home. A lot of researchers said it is possible to live on mars and they aren’t wrong either. This lead me to want to learn more about it.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
