Talladega College will be sponsoring a scholarship benefit on the campus. “A Nite of Gospel” will take place on Sunday, February 24 at 6:00 p.m.
The concert will feature a renowned gospel artist and the Talladega College choir.
The Talladega College choir was established in 1877, 10 years after the founding of the institution. In continuing the 136-year tradition of educating musicians, the college is hosting this benefit concert featuring Dove and Stellar Award nominee, Alvin Slaughter, the former lead male vocalist of the multiple Grammy award-winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. The college choir will perform on stage with Mr. Slaughter.
“It is such an honor to have a gospel artist of this caliber here on our campus to perform with our students. We are very excited about his appearance. This event is a scholarship benefit which will support members of the choir as we train and educate them to be accomplished singers and musicians,” remarks Dr. Evelyn M. White, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
The concert will be held in the Tornado Alley Gymnasium at 6 p.m. and the doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the event. Student tickets are $5. Tickets are available on-line at
www.eventbrite.com or in the Talladega College Business Office. For ticket information, please call 256-761-6224. The event is open to the public on the campus.
