I had conversation with a dear sister today, and it seems here lately, as if I’m always saying the same things over and over again to her. My counsel is usually met with deflection and blame-shifting and a refusal to take responsibility for her own journey and where she is.
For several years now, her personality and commitment to the Lord has completely changed-from being totally surrendered to the Lord, to being embittered because “the Lord just did not do what He promised me, and it has been a long time!”
She has been in chaos and turmoil for some time now and have began to back out of her victories that was won for the past several years. She has become defiant, unresponsive to the word of God, embittered and often mocks at the word of God, the messenger and blatantly declares that the “suggestion that I need to modify my behavior is absurd, because I’m saved!”
I had been seeking the Lord as to what further counsel could I give, and He reminded me that every soul must be subject to the higher powers, for the powers that be are set by Himself. We all must be subject to the word of God and be willing to submit to it, or there will be consequences.
Today, as I was disposing on a potato from my pantry, that seems to have numerous,freaky-looking growths and/or tumors coming out of its core, the spirit of truth revealed this to me: The potato has a malignancy, an overgrowth of malignant cells that is invading surrounding tissue and is trying to spread to other parts of the core of the potato.
Malignancies are distortions of growths, as in the potato!
For us as believers, this malignant growth conceals itself in the forms of malice, wickedness, enmity (hostility), vindictiveness and just plain ole unkindness and is an infection that is very contagious!
The Spirit of God began to relate the malignancy of the potato with the condition of that of my friend, who had obviously become polluted and profaned with the spirit of world. All these symptom of the malignancy were present in her life and had been for some time. Whenever she was approached with truth, she would scoff at the Word of God and malign and berate the messengers. I knew the reason for this rejection of the truth, because Satan desires to keep her in the dark, so she will just keep going in the wrong path and he will destroy her life!
A lot can be said on this subject and of those called to be saints, “walking disorderly”, but the bottom line is we are all called to “walk, even as he walked!” (1 Pet 2:21). ”To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps, He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth, when they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.”
This is a very serious clarion call today to those of us who have walked with the Lord for a number of years and are beginning to be weary!
“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” 1 John 2:15-16
A Prophetic Word – “If you grow it in your spirit…, it will manifest in your body”…good or bad!
