PROFESSION: Author
One of the main leaders in the Black Arts Movement. Served in the military for 3 years. Founded the Black Arts Repertory Theatre/School (BART/S) in 1964. Changed his name to Leroi Jones after Malcolm X was assasinated. Participated in the Black Panther Party.
