25 Years

Has it really been this long since Michael "Thrilled" the world with a zombie short film

I am still Daddy's Little Girl

And Mommy's Precious Pearl

I'm my sibling's best friend

And mother to a four-legged fiend

Who shines his brown eyes with joy just for me



I no longer beat up on myself

And insecurity is slowly slipping away

Because I know who I truly am

Evolving into the being that I'm meant to be



A lover of music no one could fathom how deeply embedded it is in my soul

A Lover of the arts in any shape or form

A Lover of history with truths yet to behold

Wisdom is my best friend forever

And yet we used to fight like cats and dogs



I'm not the same

I'm not who I used to be

I accept people for who they are

Even when they don't accept me


So I keep walking on

This narrow and twisting road

Not knowing what lies ahead around each corner

But I know whose hand is on my shoulder

Guiding me every step of the way
