Asking for the Family's Blessing

Asking for the Family's Blessing

I had the opportunity to ask the grandfather of my fiancee his feelings of our engagement. He feels that we are too young to make that kind of commitment. She's 20 and I'm 22. He also says that he respects me for coming to him and stepping up in responsibility. Even though he says that we are too young, he also said that it was our decision. What do you think.

If you two are sure you want it, it can work. My husband and I were engaged when we were both 20. Our parents thought we were too young, so we agreed to a long engagement. That way we will be even surer and they would all see that we really loved each other. We were married 2 years later at the age of 22 and we will be celebrating our 15th anniversary in December. Stay prayerful, communicate amicably and always use empathy and you two will make it.
