Frustrated?!
The economy is bleak. It is said that people will change jobs 10 to 14 timess by the time they reach age 38. That was relatively true for me. That means there was a lot of interviewing going on. I thought my theatre degree was going to prepare me for my field. To a certain extent it did but, I was disappointed. Although I was successful in show business, I still lacked a particular skill set; I believed my university failed me. Fortunately, I'm a quick study. I learned how to navigate my industry, and then I navigated yet another industry, then another.
I am at that wonderful time in my life now where I take what I've learned and shout it from the rooftops, hopefully reaching and teaching from my own experiences and life lessons and yes, further study. (Education never ends, Honey!)
Have you ever found yourself flustered by your formal education and wish you knew the right questions to ask, or that some professor took a personal interest in you? Fortunately, there are such professors and mentors as well as professional people who sincerely care about your career. I'm one.
