"Handcuffed"

Without restraints...
No longer refrain from voicing our opinion.
Releasing frustration, through the gain of an education, we are no longer a statistic.

Following those before us, creating a path of our own... leading by example.
No longer being called names, because of the choice to educate ourselves.

Sleepless nights, financial drain.
Future set in stone... spiritual gain.
Social activities, endless bonds.
All comes to an end, as your life moves on.
Finally set out, to what we are believed to be...
Young, black, and educated.
I chose to educate... Me.

-God Bless!
