I wish I had wings

Them angel wings, I wish I had them
To dive, drift on the whistling winds, I want to transcend them
Like Noah who beseeched the dove to search for land, that’s why I want those wings
High like the clouds, praise aloud, I would be proud, to be among the sun’s rays
Like the birds that tweet about their happiness of the simple life, I want those days
Like them, if I had wings, I too would sing
Like that metamorphosis, the caterpillar to the butterfly
Glide on the breeze, no one wants to deny, but love to fly
Feathers on the breeze, I wanna kiss the sun’s rays
To get the wings that uplift me in my dreams, to God that is why I pray
But what do I say when I do get those wings, that gleam in my eye
Like on her finger a diamond-studded ring, but those wings…………
