Democrat-Republican '08 Presidential Candidate List-update

Jane L. Wilson · Friday, May 4th 2007 at 12:03PM · 281 views
Since, reportedly, recently being placed under the protection of the U.S. Secret Service, 2008 presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois) is reportedly the only one of the candidates to be placed under such services this early in the game. Sen. Hilary Clinton (D-New York), though, has been under such protection since her husband’s, William “Bill” Clinton, days as U.S. president.

Nonetheless, the following list of presidential candidates may contain those who are still in the “exploratory” stage; i.e. have not made an official announcement of their bid for the presidency.

(THE LIST – Alphabetically by individual’s last name)
Democrats:
Laura Davis-Aaron of Tennessee
Warren R. Ashe of Virginia
Joseph R. Biden Jr., Delaware senator
Wesley K. "Wes" Clark of Arkansas
Randolph W. "Randy" Crow of North Carolina
Chris Dodd, Connecticut senator
John Edwards, former North Carolina senator
Michael K. Forrester of Colorado
Danny M. "Dan" Francis of New York
Maurice R. “Mike” Gravel of Virginia and former Alaska senator
Alfonzo Jones of California
John Joseph Kennedy of Georgia
Karl E. Krueger of South Dakota
Dennis Kucinich, Ohio congressman
Sal Mohamed of Iowa
Barack Obama of Illinois, senator
Oloveuse O. "Ole" Savior of Minnesota
James J. "Jim" Prattas of Hawaii
Bill Richardson, New Mexico Governor
Hillary Rodham Clinton, New York senator
Rev. Alfred C. "Al" Sharpton Jr. New York

Republicans:
Sam Brownback, Kansas Senator
Jim Gilmore, former Virginia governor
Rudy Giuliani, former New York City mayor
Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas Governor
Duncan Hunter, former chair of the House of Rep. Armed Services Committee
John McCain, Arizona senator
Ron Paul, Texas Representative
Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts Governor
Tom Tancredo, Colorado Representative

And as always, please allow the ISSUES to take precedence over personality. Personality or charisma will hopefully be part of a particular candidate’s overall package. You can check with your county’s Voter Registration Office for information.

P.S. If you haven’t already registered to vote, please do so – Some individuals might need to verify their respective voting districts, update addresses, etc. The earlier you check on your voting status, the less troublesome your voting experience will be in 2008.

Obama Supporter Wednesday, May 9th 2007 at 1:31AM

I heard Obama speak at Claflin in February and was impressed with the issues addressed. He has charisma of course but he has some really good ideas for minimum wage and health care which both are suffering right now. I am also a Hilary supporter so I am kind of on the fence, I am so ready for this election-Bush has got to go!!! PERIOD!!!!
