I'm a senior in high school '07!!!!!, but anyways, my mind has always been set on me going to a hbcu and only one non-hbcu college. Recently I went to visit Philander Smith College and I fell in love with the school. I went home and told my family that's where I want to apply to and began college there. Their response to me was " No, that is too far and why do you want to be down there where we can't help you?" I hate when they do that to me. I'm trying to get away from them not continue to see them everyday. Don't get me wrong I love my family, it's just that they are the type of people to always remind you of your faults and shortcomings instead of showing they are proud of you. The way I see it is they want me here to continue to stress me out over my mistakes.

U gotta go where the money goes until you can establish wheere u wanna go...That's how I look at it and the ONLY reason I 'm at school outta state is because the colleges back home rejected me--so send in some raggedy stuff 2 the colleges back home and then send in ur best (application/essay/reccomendation etc.) to the colleges u really wanna go to- and I'm sure it'll work out.
