Washington, DC, March 21, 2007 - The Tommy Taylor Show, an original sketch-comedy show created by Washington, DC comic and Howard University graduate Tommy Taylor, was spotlighted on Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23 as Brightcove.com’s “Channel of the Day”. This is the first time that Brightcove.com, an internet television service, has spotlighted an urban comedy program on its coveted homepage.

Founded by senior executives of Comcast, News Corp., and Discovery Network and other telecommunications companies, Brightcove has featured The Tommy Taylor Show more than any other content provider since the show first appeared on the web-based television service. “I and other colleagues are big fans,” commented Allison Tanenhaus, Brightcove’s Programming Coordinator.

Born and raised in southeast Washington, DC, the 24 year old Taylor manages all aspects of his show’s production, including writing, editing, and directing. His show reaches over two million homes through local cable television networks, and is aired on cable’s The Real Hip-Hop Network. Tommy’s online comedy content averages 100,000 hits each month led through his website www.TommyTaylorJr.com. The Tommy Taylor Show has also been featured on ABC affiliate WMAR-TV (Baltimore, MD), Yahoo! Video, and in an upcoming documentary on “African Americans in Television” on the ARTE Network (Paris, France).

Through his clean brand of comedy, Taylor desires to send positive messages to today’s youth, and set a new standard for the portrayal of African Americans in television. The industry is taking notice!
