Rise Up - a poem i wrote to my island

Rise up oh young ones of my island,
Of my country,
Of my heart.
Rise up and take the challenge that is before you.
The challenge to be more than we are right now,
The challenge to change our island,
Our country,
Our hearts.

Is there anyone out there who is scared?
Scared for more like Dion, Mya, and the Twins to die?
Scared to wake up one day and there be an outrage within our generation fighting against each other?
Why are we killing our generation?
Yes, we are killing ourselves.
Where is God in our schools?
What happened to daily prayers?

Rise up my peers,
My friends,
My family,
My acquaintances.
Please rise up.

Rise up my generation,
My generation, whom I know so many of.
Rise up and take the challenge of making changes for the better.
Rise up and make God your life and love so your world can be better.
