the other day

The other day was graduation for my jumpstart kids. (in case you didn't know Jumpstart is an Americorps program where college students work with inner city, low income head start students. We work on improving their reading, writing and social skills. But anyway, so it was graduation day and my partner child Jacobi graduated. As I look over the past two semesters I remember how well he has improved! At the end of graduation, he wrote his name all by himself and it was neat and in between the lines. It took him long, but he did it and I was so proud of him!!! I am sad to see him move on to kindergarden, but I am happy to see that I have helped him improve. He reminded me every tues and thurs why I chose to study teaching!
