Military call
Today at exactly 11:30 in the morning i got a call from the Mass. national guard talking about how they can help pay for college and all that good stuff. They call and announce that they know all your business like your full name and you address and what school you go to and how old you are. The guy was nice about it i mean giving information about how you can still go to college and still give service to united states. To me it sounded like a trick but i was like let me just hear him out. He told me that the military gives full couverage for financial need and that its only part time. That sounded okay its just the military part of it that scares me. I mean im not leaving my hometown period unless im going to my college so im not going to iraq or any other foreign countries that need my help cause right now i feel United States needs help more than any other place right now with all the violence and killings especially right now in Springfield (had 17 murders last summer including a set of 18 yr old twins a month apart, this aint even counting the murders still happening this beginning yr which is still counting 5)so leaving to some foreign place is out of the question. Anyway i told the guy i would at least hear him out on monday just to get the information just in case i ever change my mind(which i probably wont) I just want to hear someone's opinon on it. I mean am i wrong for not wanting to fight for my country and be killed somewhere where i dont have to be? Am i wrong for even letting him know i was interested in thinking about going? I plan to tell him straight out on monday that im really not interested in the military i just wanted to know some stuff about it. I refuse to join the military, i mean the people that are fighting for us right now i give them all the praise in the world for putting their life on the line but right now im not willing to do that.
I would like to thank the soldiers that are over seas fighting for me to have a better life and i give then my complete appreiciation.

No you arent wrong. I applaud our men and women who are over seas fighting but I am not the one to risk life and limb in war that I dont think we shoudl be fighting in the first place. Recruiters tell you what you want to here but they dont tell the truth most of the time. So do you.
