P.S. White schools are just as bad, just vseems in our communities, I guess when one is part of that culture things seem to be worse. White folks can say violence in the black community is at a all time high but guess what, their kids are hanging on our side of town. listening to our music, mtheir daughters are chasing us as black men down and getting used and abused, mixed babies, nice cars over here, joining black dating sites, going to back colleges which is a right, I'm just stating the problems may have legitimacy, but they are verywhere and a whole lot of folk are trying to be down if You feel me, maybe that will give more incentive for you to be more energized and not as understandably frustrated.
I know you will be well and will do great Sis and have your own stories to share when they similarly come back around in your time.
Trust me they will.
U can e-mail the financial aid office they are very good at gettin back 2 u in a timely manner. Secondly, you need 2 b persistent n stay on top of the staff at Howard, they tend 2 give people the run around if they know ur not on top of ur game. Lastly, like bro Williams stated u can call FSFA as well.
Hey girl. use your connections! Any administrators you've talked to or met, call them and tell them the issue. They will help you get it together. If that's not possible, keep on calling, every single day. Have your parent call and stay on them people. I am familiar with the letter you have received talking about FAFSA and loans and all of that. We just kept emailing and emailing and we got the answer. Don't panic, keep sane. If you stay on them and agitate enough, you WILL get an answer and hopefully the issue will be resolved the way you want it to be. I wish you the best ~Angi

Keep ringing through to your financial aid office Sis, best to catch them 1st thing in the morning, as the day builds and rthey have students in their offices and the closer to school starting it will get more hectic and hectic until school settles in. always has been that way. Also try sending them an email, I could be wrong but I know I can for Grad school. Also the entity that is giving the financial aid can be called and fafsa can be called.
I know Sis, its a big hassel. I went through same as well as many. Everytime it seems my financial aid is always messed up and then you have to wait those weeks for anything to go through with people in the same building!
I have learned that none of the office staff folk have to waith, they have certain numbers to get direct through. 1 thing I have learned is to take down names and they all have direct numbers and extensions, so I end up calling direct and you have to keep checking on. I have been told this and that was faxed, circumvented and sped up process and called to find out people did not even know what I was talking about like I am lying or soemthing, then I would have to call the original people back.
I am not a morning person either and would not look forward to calling all those 1800 #'s to find out who, what, when how etc.
But it's still m,uch bette than when that deadline is due and all this money is due and books need to be paid for and you will not be allowed to take classes past a certain date and copying peoples books 1 chapter at a time and... The pressure of trying to study, work and worried about being their or not and a roof over your head.
But its all worth it compared to how some people live with all due respect for all. Streets are not a Blessing...
Hope you feeln me and hope my 2cents has helped Sis. I know there are others with great advice and knowledge to give you. Maybe even try to contact fellow students who work in those offices. I always seemed to make great friends with them )-: hey nothing like being a no senior in college and get marched to the front of the line to register... People skillz Dear.
