Two New Vice Presidents Join the Oakwood University Administration Team

Oakwood University is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. James Doggette, Jr. as the new Vice President for Recruitment and Enrollment Management. Doggette brings a distinguished record of service in ministry, higher education, and public leadership to this critical role, where he will lead and innovate Oakwood’s institutional enrollment strategies.

Doggette is an Oakwood alumnus with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies, earned in 2010 and 2016 respectively. He completed his Doctorate in Strategic Leadership at Southeastern University, specializing in young adult leadership development, in 2023. His career spans impactful pastoral assignments, public service in the U.S. Congress, and a recent commission as First Lieutenant Chaplain in the United States Air Force.

Oakwood University is also proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Jermaine Jackson as the new Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Jackson is a seasoned finance executive with a strong commitment to operational excellence and mission-centered stewardship. Most recently, he served as Associate Treasurer and Stewardship Director for the Lake Union Conference in Berrien Springs, Michigan, where he led the Lake Union Revolving Fund.

Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Oakwood University, a Master of Business Administration from Baker University, and a Graduate Certificate in Accounting from DeVry University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration and is married to Dr. D’Andria Anderson Jackson, a licensed clinical psychologist. They are blessed with two children.
