"Not feeling" College Hill

I guess I'm the only person that is not feeling College Hill.
As an alumni of Virginia State (c/o 2000), I was excited that my school was going to represent. Oh, was I surprised and shocked at the 2 1/2 episodes that I could stomach.
Then came the emails and calls from my Alumni Friends; their orange and blue blood was equally chilled on the matter. What about the school and the comradery and the unity and the teachers that care? What about ladies and gentlemen and respect? That's what I found at VSU, and when I go back, I still see it. It was the "experience of a lifetime" just like the brochure said.
Sadly enough, it is what it is. Maybe the cast does have redeeming qualities, but the show made them hard to find.
Thanks alot BET; way to go.

Call the network. Write the network. Get your friends to make their voice heard. The show won't stop, but if its you they are representing, it's you they need to hear from.

I agree with the feedback that was already posted BET is respoinding to what the viewers are watching, they are not physically in our living rooms "knowing or caring" if we like how VSU is represented or not. As long as they see ratings they believe this is what is wanted. My husband went to VSU-he played ball there also but after pledging Kappa he stopped going to class and eventually dropped out and joined the Air Force. He regrets his decisions but he is going to college now while in the military studying Aeronautical Engineering. He loves VSU and this is our first time ever watching College Hill because of it being at VSU. He likes the show "ONLY" because it promotes VSU- he doesn't agree with how BET portrays the students and it is not there fault that BET is only showing footage of all of the things that they do outside of school. I don't blame the cast because if you put the camera on anyone 24 hours a day for a couple of months they are going to say some real dumb things or they are going to do something silly or stupid. We can't blame the cast I really don't think that its them as much as it is BET wanting drama and promotion. I believe any shows that promote HBCU's will increase the admissions for HBCUs. I wish they would focus more on the different clubs that are offered and the professors also but BET feels that it won't sell and when you put that up against the type of videos that gets voted on 106 and Park you can see why they feel that way. Good and honest post I understand how you feel...I feel like BET used the cast in general. I hope that the next time BET does a college hill that it is done with intentions to be a classier show than MTV's Real World. There is so much more to love about HBCUs than just the party and frats!

College Hill is quite entertaining...and Im sure thats what BET wants to display. Not students who are always studying and showing diginity and respect. OR maybe we're only seeing 1/2 of what they filmed. I do agree with you because this is also showing the public that students at HBCU's arent really on the study tip or maturing as they should.

We dont see them going to class, studying, going to the library, etc. as they might be doing. We see them going out on dates, having parties, clowning in the house - basically doing the fun thing college students would do. I applaud them for having the party to give $$$ to the Hurricane Katrina relief funds.

And Im sure the cast isnt 100% pleased with what was shown but im sure they were notified that they have no control of what viewers would see. I agree and think that you should contact BET or whom it may concern and tell them to show other scenes so that HBCU's dont get a bad rep. and so that the representation of VSU isnt destroyed. They're displaying a better image in "Season of the Tiger", Im sure they can do it in C.H.4

Hello, I commend You for Your boldness and courage in being real. That is a gift because the average person rather run with the crowd instead of being the most Blessed unique person that God made them.
Keep being who You are, hats off to You Sis.
William
