Black History Month

I have AOL Black Voices. They were talking about how Morgan Freeman said that Black History needs to be/is American History, so that it needs to be taught all the time. I agree with this completely but realistically - it ain't gonna happen no time soon. Within Black Communities, however, (I have AOL Black Voices, or predominately black radio stations/urban area stores and malls, schools, TV shows, etc.)...black history needs to be all year round. I listen to 98 WJLB and watch UPN, and all the DJs or whatever are black. During this month (only, because it's Black History Month) they show commercials and everything that have the title "Know Your History" - giving a black fact. The black fact is cool, I love it, please believe. However --- if they're saying Know Your History and they know for a fact that we don't know our history with the school systems we are all forced to attend, then why don't they advocate that quote all year round? They're not showing they honestly mean that if, the month that the government run by people of another descent give us to have for our own history, is the only month we take. If we're proud of our culture, we KNOW it's not taught to us in schools, teach it to us SOMETIME instead of the month they "allow" us to have. Does that make sense? I'm not saying turn it into some preaching show. I mean, on WJLB, they have "White Man Word Of the Day"...so apparently you know this is a black joke thing. So have, "Black Fact of the Day" some time, you know? The government uses the excuse that because white culture is the "predominate" culture in America, that's why we are forced to learn THEIR history as opposed to our own. So where there are predominately other cultures (black, hispanic..), they should be allowed their history in those areas.
