Longtime media relations administrator Wallace Dooley dies at 68

The Southwestern Athletic Conference mourns the loss of former SWAC staff member Wallace Dooley, Jr. who passed July 21, 2015 at the age of 68.
Dooley served as Associate Commissioner of Communications from 2001-2006. During his tenure, he helped the league transition into its football championship game.
“The Southwestern Athletic Conference is deeply saddened by the passing of Wallace Dooley," “His contributions are entrenched in our Communications Department. Dooley’s creativity and passion provided the SWAC with increased visibility and exposure.” said SWAC Commissioner Duer Sharp
In 2012, CoSIDA honored Dooley with the CoSIDA Lifetime Achievement Award for 25 years of service in the industry. Dooley also won 11 CoSIDA publication awards during his career.
