Not watching your own kids!!

Krystal Taylor · Wednesday, March 23rd 2005 at 2:06PM · 264 views
The other day i was backing out of my friend's driveway when I had to slam on my breaks beause someone's little boy was behind me. This isn't a well-lighted street, far from it. The two streetlights by her house recently blewout. The only light i had to go by as a light from another car (if one came up) and the light from her garage. Now earlier that day the same house that tha kid was walking from was packed with people, so why is it that nobody was watching a little boy that could be no more than 6!
I love kids and it really pisses me off when I know that someone is not taking the proper care for their child. I mean $*** it is not like the neighborhood was an extremely safe one. People get drunk around there everyday. If I didn't see the boy and I had hit him then the mother would be all in my face tryin' to get money.
I AM SO TIRED OF PEOPLE IN THESE ABSOLUTELY COMPLETELY BLACK NEIGHBORHOODS NOT WATCHING THEIR OWN KIDS! THEN IF THE CHILD IS HIT THEY WANT TO ACT A FOOL. IF YOU WERE WATCHING THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE THEN THEY WOULDN'T GET HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sad...but sometimes them kids are hard-headed. Maybe the parent isn't watching them, but I bet he/she told the kid to stay inside. I know that parents are less prone to spank...no WHUP they kids nowadays. My kid, when I get one, goin to catch a beating for ever disrespecting or disobeying me...

I will start by a famous yet forgotten quote....

"It takes a community to raise a child." There was a time where in the same scenario a person could/would get out of their car and sculled the boy and then walk him/her to the parents house where he would immediately get into some type of punishment or a "beating." This would result in the discipline of that child and also REDUCE the likely hood of this happening again. The bigger problem I see is the fact that WE no longer incorporate the word "COMMUNITY" and every child is "theirs" or "someone else’s." I want the COMMUNITY back where everyone know everyone’s children and thus EVERYONE can be held accountable.

All in all, Sis, I hear your frustration, but the blessing or up side to this is the fact that this young man wasn't hit or hurt; Your car wasn't damaged or scratched; and both were only temporarily disrupted. But what will you do the next time? Talk to his parents and begin a change of community or vent, get it off your chest and move on.......

Who am I to blow against the wind,

Wil
