Morgan Football Returns to the Top
With a 69-7 home win against Delaware State on the last regular game of the season — and a season-ending loss by North Carolina A&T — the Morgan Bears became Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Champions for the first time since 1979. The Bears will face their first playoff opponent, the University of Richmond Spiders, in Richmond on Nov. 29.
MSU President David Wilson, Morgan Vice President for Student Affairs Kevin Banks and MSU Athletic Director Floyd Kerr joined Morgan’s football team and coaches, the MSU Marching Band, Morgan’s MEAC Champion cheerleading team and other Morgan students and staff at the University Student Center theater on Nov. 23, to celebrate the Bears’ historic victory and watch the playoff bracket selection on ESPN.
