HIV

I am a drug and alcohol counselor, and I deal with the bad choices people make everyday. HIV/AIDS is a bad problem in the Black community. It is a sad sight to be teaching a class on how to be safe and you know that half the people in the class are not even listening to you. I attended Grambling State University and at the time I was attending school there the STD/SDI rates of infection on campus was huge. I did my fair share of sleeping around and not always being safe, but that was due to the lack of not knowing or not having the right information.
Within our communities we must start being smart about our health and how we can avoid STD/STI. PLEASE BE SAFE AND STRAP IT UP...

As of 2000... 1 in every 33 Black Men and 1 in every 98 Black Women from the ages of 27 to 39 were infected with HIV.

HIV is the fifth leading killers of Black Women.
HIV was responsible for one third of ALL death among Black Men age 25 to 44.

1 in every 3 Black Men will get Herpes!!!

Women are four times less likely to be infected then men, although it is 17 and a half times easier for HIV to be passed to a woman through s*x with a man then from a woman to a man..... Black Women account for 82% of females with HIV.....WOW

GOD BLESS AND PLEASE BE SAFE.....
AND GO GET TESTED!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad that you can be honest about your past. I just hope that people can do the same and learn what to do before its too late. It's impotant that we educate our selves.. Some people still don't think that it can happen to them.
