NSU's Brooks to Study, Coach In Ireland

Former Norfolk State women's basketball forward Marian Brooks has accepted the Victory Scholarship through the Sport Changes Life Foundation (SCL) to study in Ireland for the 2013-14 academic year.
Brooks will spend the school year studying business, with a concentration in sports, at the University of Limerick located in Limerick, Ireland. While there, she will also coach basketball and coordinate a reading program for local youth.
Having graduated in the spring with a journalism degree, Brooks was a four-year letter winner on the Spartan basketball team. Her senior season in 2012-13 was cut short after six games due to injury. Nevertheless, she finished her playing career with 458 points and 373 rebounds in 90 games in a little over three years.
Brooks will depart from the United States in August.
