MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - Savannah State pitcher Kyle McGowin was one of 58 baseball student-athletes named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s 18th Annual All-America team.

The junior right-hander was named to the first team.

McGowin, who was recently drafted in the 5th round by the Los Angeles Angels in the Major League Draft, is one of 10 semifinalists for the National Pitcher of the Year Award.

The business management major finished the 2013 campaign with a 12-2 record, 2.02 earned run average and a school single-season record of 135 strikeouts. The Sag Harbor, New York native pitched 120.1 innings.

McGowin won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year award, made the MEAC all-tournament team and was also a finalist for the 2013 Golden Spikes Award.
