October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. How many of you females have even gotten a Pap smear before?
BLACK WOMEN: It's time to stop wasting time, we are affected the most because we know the least when it comes to health matters.
Please go get tested. A lot of places actually have grants to provide free or low cost testing for us, take advantage of it!!
When I say get tested, that means for STD's too people!!
Please do not be ignorant or jaded enough to think that it won't happen to you!!

Even though I am a Man, we as Men need to know this as well as for all fathers etc.!
Great post!
Just think about it, if many women are not doing this or are ignoring, how many men know nothing about this at all compounded by the fact the we the men seek the women and viceversa.
This naivety, ignoring etc. is also abusive and deceptive if not heeded.
How many std's could be halted and other problems if people just did regular checkup's, the longer in between checkup's the more abusive people can become and many times end up with much worse and then regret it terribly.
This also has a major affect upon children.
Please inform us on how regular also or do most females know this already?
Appreciate the knowledge Sis and pray you do not mind me adding in my 2 cents to this very important post.
So not onlly should men take the responsibility to ask a female if she has had a recent std test(at least), we as men need to take it upon ourselves to ask females have they had a recent pap smear.
Is this logical to ask or too personal if not in a committed relatinship, engaged or married?

People should ask these questions in general conversation. We all talk about everything else now a-days. I forgot to mention that every 1 man out of 100 women has breast cancer. Things should be both ways
People if you're gonna "just do it,tm", just be an adult and get tested!!

Hey Sis, I coincidentally heard on the news about there is a new vaccine(experimental for women) and that 10,000 women have this cancer every year and 3500 die per year, but it is one of the most tretable cancers if detected early. I can't remember the name but it is detected through pap smears.
Appreciate the awarness, did not know about 1 in 100 men catch breast cncer. I neverr claim that for myself. Is that in relation to body fat levels for men?

Actually, a high level of saturated fat intake can increase the risk for breast cancer. The number of men with breast cancer IS STILL on the rise, as are with women. I will have to look into that also. We had a breast cancer seminar last night; I have a feeling I'm going to be very close to those ladies cause I need to help promote awareness.
