hood, means its in the ghetto, the lower class part of the city. you know where the craziness happens. lol. an hbcu is an hbcu.
I agree! You can't really pick just one and only one HBCU to receive the title as "the best". I think it depends on what you're looking for and what best suits you. Depending on what factors you base your judgement on, alot of HBCU's are "the best". If you based your decision on the most people, I'd say Top 5 - Southern University Baton Rouge, Tennessee State University, FAMU, Howard and Hampton..... maybe. It all depends on what YOU look at. You'd have to look at the facts and compare and contrast. Honestly, some are better than others, but I don't know if there's and absolute BEST! - Good topic :-)

According to the 25 TOP HBCU's List, Spelman and Morehouse are number one and two respectively. But, that could be based on anything, you know? I don't think the best HBCU should be just based on the band, and non-stop activities - even though those are both good factors. But, location, administration, student population, biggest academic curriculium, most informative websites, all that should also affect what HBCU is the best, you know? In my opinion, there is no best hbcu, because what one lacks, another doesn't, and vice versa. For example, Hampton is said to have one of the most beautiful campuses but its in a small town, whereas Clark Atlanta is in a major city, but I've heard that the campus is sort of in the 'hood', whatever that means.
