The nerve of some people

The nerve of some people

Recently, I was sitting at work with a few of the guys and this white pastor walked in and made on of the worst racist comments that I had ever witnessed before in my life...esp. in front of a crowd of brothers. He quoted another black guy at work....he told us that this other brother said that there are only (3) things that a black man will fight for...'rims, weed & women (actually he used the female s*x organ...the 'p' word. Some of the brothers laughed. I was upset & appalled to the point of almost losing it. I later confronted him when I caught him by myself. I told him that the next time that I heard anything similiar to what he said coming out of his mouth, I would take him to the human relations department. He stated that he didn't realize that it upset anyone since the guy who told him got it off of BET Comic View. He apologized because he didn't want to be exposed but I am still bothered that a room full of brothers thought that it was funny. Aren't we more than a joke?

Yea I would have been a little bit upset too, except sometimes you encounter those white folks that really do not have a clue when they are saying or doing something offensive to blacks (especially when they don't know many blacks)... When I have encountered that (the innocent folks) I just tell them straight up that they might want to watch what they say because they could offend somebody with bad results....

This situation just goes to show you how far we have come or how deep we've venture. He was only repeating what he read or was told by someone black. We've step right into the devil world, starting with no respect for ourselves therefore no has any for us. I am a Black male surrounded by whites, since I've been here they feel that I think I am better than them because I have total respect for myself and demand the same.
Let us try to correct our own brother and sister to respect themselves.

Stay strong my brother
