America, land of the free???

Cherria Rigby · Friday, September 2nd 2005 at 2:30PM · 280 views
Watching and listening to the news, I find it rather funny that the crisis in N.O. is being handled soooo poorly...

America's reaction to the Tsunami relief was quite impressive, however, I'm wondering why it's such a long time to send relief to citizens of their own country...

I'm also wondering if the majority of folks down in N.O. were white, would the response have been faster????

Makes one wonder.

i found myself thinking that same thing. Mabe the response would have been faster if the majority was white, we can never know how people will act.

I have an answer for that.. Its too much pride in this country... thats the reason why and you have people who just dont care if its not directly affecting them they dont care. ITs really people out here that think like that. Its quite sad especially for the people that are below the poverty level .. you get all these politicians trying to get the black vote and then when you have something like this happening... cant nobody be found to help.

New Orleans is 80 percent black thats why there not getting a faster response. One woman told a news reporter that her husband was dying at her feet, while she tried to stop 4 police cars and they nevered stop. They don't tell the real story. Another story, One of the bus broke down because there was no more gas. So the police man that was following them stop and told them to put up money for gas, and the policeman took off. "SOME" of these policeman down here are so wishy washy. There are some good stories, like there was this policeman that decided to take his own money to get some water for the evacuees. But its more bad than good.
