She is also involved in political activities such as stopping the Darfur genocide and is a member of a national the women's peace movement. The husband is an investor; stocks, bonds, real estate and venture capital. He is an advocate for environmentally conscious and sustainable business practices. He is involved with several nationally known organizations that focus on clean energy technologies, sustainable business practices, social responsibility and corporate ethics as well as economic development in third world countries particularly Tanzania and Brasil.
